We drove from Eswatini back into South Africa to spend a few nights in a lovely hotel in Drakensberg.

As we drove closer to our destination the mountains started appearing behind some wonderful landscapes.

Drakensberg (‘Dragons Mountains’) is South Africa’s highest mountain range.

We arrived at the hotel and felt like we were living in a picture postcard.

The hotel offers treks and horse riding within the full inclusive package. We took a beginner’s ride which was nice but not sure I will repeat the experience, i can now sit down again!

There are plenty of treks to be undertaken here with fabulous views.

There are also some local cave paintings to be seen.

In the evening the light changes and the views become even more impressive.

The evening sunset is also impressive and if you get lucky the area can have incredible electric storms at night too!

We loved our stay here, it’s a much bigger place than what we got to see, but what we did get to see was very beautiful.

Next we drive into Lesotho.
