It was a long journey from Santa Ana, El Salvador to the simply stunning Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, we were so pleased to arrive there.

From Lake Atitlan we travelled back to Antigua, just a 2-3hr journey and we were looking forward to having some time to check out the city properly.

The time has come for us to spend a night on Acatenago to watch the Fuego volcano from close up.

Our best practical way to Flores to see the ancient Mayan city of Tikal was a short flight. This was our last destination.

Guatemala has been thoroughly fascinating and such an enjoyable experience.

The people, the food and the wonderful places we have visited have made this such a valuable part of our trip, it’s a another highlight!

Next we head to Roatan in Honduras as we continue our journey.
