Canada finally rose to the top of our travel list, so we planned a five and a half week trip to check it out, leaving early September.
As usual with our travelling this was going to be a multi stop affair, spending no more than 3 or 4 nights at each location. It’s quite an action packed itinerary but it allows us to get a feel for the country in such a relatively short period of time.
We started in the west, flying from London to Vancouver City.
After a stay over night, the next day we headed to Vancouver Island.

Our next stop was Vancouver City for a few days to see what it had to offer.

On our last morning in Vancouver we picked up a hire car and drove up to Whistler to start our trip into the Rocky Mountains.

Having caught the mountain life bug, we drove to Banff on a road trip of a lifetime, with views to halt any journey in its tracks (multiple times)!

Arriving in Banff the spectacular vistas kept on coming! This area soon became the likely highlight of our whole trip.

Next we drove to Calgary and dropped off the hire car, spending a couple of days in the town before heading to the east coast.

We landed in Halifax, Nova Scotia to begin another big road trip.

Our first big city in the east was Quebec City, our entry into the French regions of Canada had begun.

As we continued, we took a five hour drive to Ottawa, a city we quickly felt at home in.

From Ottawa we drove to Toronto, one of Canada’s biggest city’s.

Our final port of call was Montreal where we said goodbye to our trusty hire car to explore the city.

Canada was fabulous, such a diverse country with so much to offer to visitors willing to seek out new experiences.
We literally drove thousands of miles in Canada and loved every minute of it.
So farewell Canada, you served us well and we are grateful.
