Panama was the obvious starting point for our Central America Trip, allowing us the opportunity to stop in Antigua and Aruba enroute from the UK.
Panama isn’t a country that I knew too much about, except of course for its Canal and the Panama hat!
However, there is actually lots to see and do here!
Our first stop was Panama City where we stayed in the Old Town (Casco Viejo) for a couple of nights.

From Panama City we needed to escape the hustle and bustle so we headed to Taboga Island, just a 30mins ferry ride from the mainland.

From Taboga we headed back into the city by boat and then headed to the airport to fly up to Bocas Del Toro for New Year’s.

From Bocas we took a boat to the mainland and then a bus to the land crossing into Costa Rica before heading to Puerto Viejo.
