Tanzania

Tanzania is one of Africa’s jewels, a country bordering the Indian ocean with mainland beaches and islands, along with some of the best safari destinations in the world.

It hosts Africa’s highest mountain (mount Kilimanjaro) at just under 6,000 metres high and a lake that is the deepest in the world,

Over a quarter of the country is protected land, with 30% of the country assigned as national parks, game reserves and conservation areas, it stands out as a a country with one of the highest proportions globally in this regard.

It’s other claims to fame include hosting one of the largest animal migrations in the world and also as one of the sites where ancient human life existed, proving Africa’s claim as the cradle of humankind.

We only had two weeks here, and we saw so much, but there is much more to be seen in this amazing country.

We started in Zanzibar, an island off the east coast, sat in the beautiful Indian Ocean.

We left Zanzibar and headed back to the mainland for a 5 day safari tour visiting 3 major national parks.

Our first stop was the Tarangeri national park, presented by our guide as a ‘taster’ for what was to come.

Tanzania was a delight to visit, there is so much to see and it has such diversity to offer. Yes it’s hot, sweaty, dusty and chaotic at times but it is one of Africa’s finest places to visit.

It’s a visit that will leave an everlasting impression on you.

Take a trip there and I think you will agree.
