Cuenca – Ecuador

Cuenca is Ecuador’s third-largest city and was founded as a Spanish settlement in the mid-1500s. But traces of civilization go way back to over 10,000 years ago! Perhaps most notably, Cuenca was once inhabited by the Incas.

There are no lack of churches and Cathedrals in Cuenca, it also seemed to have the highest number of mobile phone shops that I’ve ever seen anywhere 🙂

The main attraction in Cuenca for us was the annual Christmas Eve parade, the Pase Del Nino Viajero.
